About me.
Hello. And namaste.
I am Renuka.
I am a trained EFT (tapping) practitioner, a trained Martha Beck life coach and I hold a Graduate Certificate in Counselling.
I am a spiritually and creatively inclined highly-sensitive woman. I absolutely love working with other spiritually and/or creatively inclined woman, and helping them clear emotional and energetic blocks so that they can fulfil their spiritual purpose and live a life that is meaningful for them.
I also help women, like me, who come from 'culturally and linguistically diverse' (CALD) backgrounds. It takes a lot of courage and support to create, a life and a sense of belonging, right from the scratch. It takes an equal amount of courage to constantly balance the two identities we carry within ourselves - the identity that comes from the culture we grew up in and the identity that comes from calling a new place and culture our home. Many of us are also mothers constantly trying to maintain the balance for our kids as well, so that they can be connected to their ancestral lineage and, be a healthy and contributing member of their community as well. My mission is to support you in your journey to growing your roots all over again and flourishing exactly as who you are as an individual and also as a mother (if you are one).
My CALD background :
I was born and brought up in India.
At 28, I followed my husband, who is also from India, for an work opportunity in Mackay, which is a small mining town in QLD, Australia.
It took a big toll on my mental and emotional wellbeing, which I didn’t fully understand why, back then. I had expected this to be so exciting in every possible way. I mean, getting to live in a totally different part of the world. Getting to experience a new culture! Opportunities to broaden my mind! And so much natural beauty around! All this was amazing, you know, but there was also so much to learn and adapt to, and it was so hard and overwhelming for me. Looking back I wish I had more empathy for myself, more awareness and knowledge of tools like EFT, back then.
Fast forward to now, I am also now a mom of a beautiful daughter and I understand the joys and challenges of being a parent coming from a different cultural and linguistic background. I am constantly learning ways to create a sense of belonging not just for myself but also for my husband and my daughter. Kids need extra support so that they belong not just as a member of a family but also as a member of a community. I know how much support and courage this takes as we navigate this unfamiliar territory as a parent.
Other stuff about me :
I live in Perth, Australia, with my husband, my daughter and my three fur kids
I have a bachelor’s degree in engineering and a master’s in businesses administration.
I love cooking and serving simple food mostly inspired by my mum’s cooking.
I love ocean.
I am a student of “A course in miracles'‘.
I am an omnist, that is, I believe all religions are beautiful and true. However, my spiritual beliefs and practices are heavily influenced by Buddhism, Hinduism, and my reverence for mother nature. I love rituals. I believe mundane is sacred.
Beautiful quotes inspire me. They inspire me and help me see things differently. Here are some quotes I love:
“As you move toward a dream, the dream moves toward you.” - Julia Cameron
“If you touch one thing with deep awareness, you touch everything.” - Thich Nhat Hanh
“Be a curator of your life. Slowly cut things out until you’re left only with what you love, with what’s necessary, with what makes you happy.” - Leo Babauta
“Nature is not a place to visit. It is home.” - Gary Snyder
“In nature, I find solace, inspiration, and a sense of belonging.” - Richard Louv
Thanks for taking time to know me! <3
I hope you find the support you need to create a life that feels like a home, here or anywhere. <3
